THE ASTRAL PLANE – In memory of the great Gunpowder Plot, several key spirithunters the world over gathered at the British House of Parliament to summon the ghost of Guy Fawkes, hoping to hear an insider’s story of what transpired in one of the most notorious conspiracies in history.

True enough, what they heard was bound to rewrite history.

“Man, I hardly remembereth what happened back then,” said Fawkes, sounding hungover from a night out with Satan and the boys. “I was really just taking ye olde nap, and when I woke up, there were all these wicked-huge barrels pointed at my face.

“Seriously, I was just there to watch the barrels while the other guys went to Mass,” he admitted. “I was never a fan of Friar Tuck’s homilies, so I volunteered to stay behind. Everything from that point on was pretty much a blur.” Experts agree that the “blur” mentioned by Fawkes was a side effect of all the gunpowder fumes in the poorly-ventilated room he was hiding out in.

Asked about what death felt like, he had this to say: “The hanging I could take. But, man, the drawing and the quartering were a bitch!”

On how he was holding up, he said, “Well, things are pretty swell with all the drinking down here and all, but the other guys are still beating my ass for ratting them out. But when you’ve got a fucking half-ton rock on your chest, friendship is pretty much the least of your worries.”

At this point, responses from the spirits ceased. Everyone agreed that it was more than likely he had passed out from the alcohol and the beatings. – DS
